at In & Beyond Bath
William is part of the In & Beyond Bath team, where he looks after digital marketing and creates photos and videos. With a background in music and a love of stories, he’s recently started using writing as another way to capture what makes places special. Writing is a newer medium for him, but his aim remains the same: to evoke deep feelings and capture the atmosphere of a place so that others can truly sense it. Alongside his creative work, he’s a proud systems nerd who finds as much satisfaction in a well-built Notion dashboard as in a perfectly framed photograph. He’s been part of In & Beyond Bath since 2021 and continues to blend strategy, creativity, and curiosity in equal measure.
What's your favourite location in the local region and why?
Puzzlewood
The most incredible mossy woodland realm, my jaw was on the floor the entire visit. I went there on holiday with my mum, not expecting much, but it completely blew me away. It felt hidden, magical, and otherworldly — the kind of place that makes Lord of the Rings feel real. I spent hours running around with my camera, and I still think about it often. It’s a concentrated paradise, unlike anywhere else, and more people should go.
What are you interested in writing?
For me, writing is an extension of storytelling. Photography and video have long been my tools for evoking the mood and magic of a place, but now I’m drawn to doing the same through words. I want to capture not just the history or the facts, but the feelings — the awe, the stillness, the hidden wonder — that make each place unforgettable. Writing is a way for me to slow down, connect, and share those emotions with others, just as I try to do with my images.
