What makes someone walk away from a successful 15-year teaching career to start a travel company from scratch?

In this episode of Your Big Career Move, our founder Jules Mitra shares the deeply personal story behind In & Beyond Bath. From early struggles in the classroom to a life-changing stint in Zambia and a moment of clarity over dinner in Cusco, Jules talks candidly about what it took to walk away from a traditional path and build something more meaningful.

He reflects on what education taught him about people, leadership, and the power of story—all of which now shape how we design every journey for our guests. Whether you're curious about running a business, navigating a career shift, or simply want to understand what drives our approach to travel, this conversation reveals it all.

“I realised I couldn’t go back to the system. Having had a taste of autonomy and purpose, I needed to create something that mattered—to me, and to the people I serve. That’s how In & Beyond Bath was born.”
