Bath hosts one of the greatest Christmas markets in Europe from early November to early December, but there are so many more reasons to stay during this period.
Late October & early November are a magical time to visit; The nights are drawing in, the air is tinged with dampness and a low, golden sun bathes the landscape as the golds, crimsons and terracottas of the remaining leaves relax their grip and float gently to the ground.
The opportunity to truly connect in an intimate way with the unsung yet magical experiences on offer at this time of year is compelling. Snuggle beside a fire with hands cupped around a steaming mulled wine, listen to the angelic voices of a choir fill a medieval cathedral as your eyes are drawn upwards by the ancient, carved stones and long shadows, duck into the doorway of a craft store along a cobbled street of a market town that evokes a bygone, Dickensian era.
