Ex-history teacher & tour guide, he has both academic insight as well as on-ground expertise. Having travelled halfway across the world at age 3, Jules has been a passionate traveller ever since. In 2016 Jules left his History and Politics teaching career on returning from setting up schools in Zambia to follow his dream - setting up a local tour company that shares the England he loves.
What's your favourite location in the local region and why?
Little Solsbury hill
It’s an iron-age hill fort offering dramatic views of Bath and the surrounding southern Cotswolds. It was the subject of Peter Gabriel’s hit, and is possibly the site of King Arthur’s greatest victory against the Saxons. What’s not to love?!
What are you interested in writing?
For me, writing is a way to bring the stories of the region to life, especially for those who can’t join me on a tour. I’ve always loved delving deep into the hidden histories and overlooked details that most visitors miss, and writing gives me a chance to share that passion more widely. Whether it’s a historic anecdote, a forgotten figure, or a new perspective on a familiar site, I enjoy taking the time to really explore and write about what makes this region so rich and fascinating.
