Booking & Planning
All tours can be booked online through our website. Choose your preferred date, group size, and any available options, then follow the checkout steps. If you’d like help booking or have a specific request, you’re very welcome to contact us.
Yes. Many of our experiences are available as private tours, as well as bespoke private experiences tailored entirely around you. Private tours are ideal if you’d like a more personal experience with your own group, while shared tours offer the chance to meet other travellers in a small, friendly setting.
We do not run door-to-door tours from London by car. Instead, we offer day tours from London by train. You travel on a fast, comfortable train to Bath, where we meet you and begin the experience. For these tours, train tickets are included in the overall cost and booked by us for you and your group, making the process simple and seamless while avoiding long road journeys.
Occasionally, we have reduced-price availability on shared tours, which is listed on our Late Availability page. Any other special offers or campaigns will always be shown clearly on our website.
On the Day
Most tours start and finish in Bath, either at a central meeting point or at your accommodation, depending on the tour type. Meeting location is always confirmed at booking.
We recommend arriving around 10 minutes before the scheduled start time. This allows for a relaxed start and ensures we can depart promptly.
Tour lengths vary depending on the experience. Walking tours are typically around 2 hours, half-day tours around 4 hours, and full-day tours around 8 hours. The expected duration is shown on each tour page.
On full-day tours, we include time for lunch, usually around 60 minutes at a pub en route. The cost of lunch is not included, as menus and prices vary by venue, therefore allowing you full access to the menu.
Yes. We build in time for independent exploration on most tours, alongside guided elements. The balance depends on the experience, but we always aim for a relaxed, unhurried pace. Please feel free to let your guide know if you’d like more or less guidance during the day, as your feedback helps us shape the best possible experience for you.
Sustainability & Accessibility
This depends on the tour. Walking tours involve more time on foot, while driving tours include shorter walks spread throughout the day. Distances are generally gentle and taken at an unhurried pace. If you’d prefer a more gentle experience, you’re very welcome to note this in the booking form so your guide can plan the most suitable route and be best prepared on the day.
Yes, for most people. We keep a relaxed pace and take regular breaks. Some locations involve uneven surfaces, steps, or gentle hills, particularly in historic areas. If you’d like a more detailed description for a specific tour, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help.
Often, yes. We regularly host guests with a wide range of needs and are happy to discuss what’s possible in advance. When booking directly through our website, you’ll find a dedicated field in the booking form to share this information. If you’re booking through another channel, please contact us with the name on your booking and tour date so we can inform your guide and do our best to assist you.
Many of our tours can work really well for families, especially when children are curious, engaged, and enjoy discovering new places. Suitability depends on a child’s age, interests, and attention span, so if you’re unsure whether a particular tour is right for your family, we’re always happy to advise.
Our tours are conducted in English, and many guests with varying levels of English enjoy the experience. Our guides are clear, engaging, and happy to adjust their pace where possible. For walking tours, we can also offer the experience in French or German. This option can be selected once you’ve chosen your date.
Policies & Practicalities
